Learn how to make this amazingly delicious and healthy Spicy Blackened Shrimp Salad with Mango Dressing
Here we are again, back to salad Sunday. I love salad Sunday. It has been such a blast coming up with new salad ideas, plus I have been feeling so much better. This spicy blackened shrimp salad with mango dressing is packed full of so much flavor! If you’ve never cooked with Louisiana Fish Fry Products Cajun Blackened Seasoning 2.5 oz before, I would highly recommend it. HIGHLY. It’s so good. WARNING – this seasoning could set off your smoke alarm, so make sure you’ve got that fan on! Or, just cook on the grill in your cast iron skillet. However, be aware of your neighbors. Remind me to tell you a smoke alarm story sometime. Oh you want to hear it now? (yes I LOVE to hear myself talk…)

I live in a condo. My neighbors are pretty close. One day, I was making this oh so delicious Chinese BBQ pork (Char Sui) in the oven when the smoke alarm started to go off. No worries I thought (I mean I set off the smoke alarm A LOT). So I opened the hall door to let the breeze come through. Well, much to my dismay, I learned that one of the building smoke alarms is right outside my door. So long story short (really?), the building was evacuated, we waited for the fire department for about 20 minutes to give us the OK to reenter, all the time praying that no one noticed it was us. BUT the char sui was delicious. We don’t open the front door while cooking anymore.

Now, I was able to cook these blackened shrimp with no major incidence. Except some coughing, and maybe some eye watering. Don’t breathe it in.
I hope I haven’t scared you off from using blackened seasoning. It really is quite good and gives this salad a nice punch of flavor and spice. And then we add some fresh made mango dressing to cool it all off. The sweet of the mango together with the spice of the shrimp are a perfect combination.

To make the mango dressing:
Combine all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth. The white balsamic vinegar is amazing in this – it adds an extra layer of tartness and sweet. However, you can substitute apple cider vinegar if desired.
To make the salad:
Pat shrimp dry with paper towels and coat evenly with the blackened seasoning. Heat 1 tablespoon butter, bacon fat, coconut oil or other cooking oil over medium high heat. Add shrimp and cook for about 1-2 minutes per side, until cooked through but not overcooked. Remember to use your fan. You don’t want any smoke alarm incidents.
Combine the remaining salad ingredients in a large bowl and top with the blackened shrimp. Serve with mango dressing. This spicy blackened shrimp salad with mango dressing is easy, healthy and delicious!
