Heat a cast iron skillet in a 400°F oven for 20 minutes.

Season the pork chops with the salt and pepper.

Add 1 tablespoon of the butter. Add the pork chops and sear for 3 minutes on each side.

When done, remove them from the skillet and turn the heat down to medium low.

Add the remaining butter, mushrooms, onions and garlic. Cook for about 3-5 minutes, until the mushrooms have released much of their liquid.
