I love food.
So many of my baby pictures were of me in this god awful highchair with food smeared everywhere.
Or I was naked. Probably for reason above.
Growing up, my mom made home cooked meals almost every night. My sister and I grew up learning how to cook; food has been a part of my life for a very long time.
Over the years I have learned a great deal about food and am a self-proclaimed foodie. Creating new recipes is a passion of mine, whether it be from scratch, or ideas from the cookbooks I enjoy reading in my free time (LOL). I am always learning new techniques, using new products and trying new ingredients.
I have such a good time when cooking.
Good time = occasional cursing, screaming at the boyfriend, making a HUGE mess and realizing you don’t have that one ingredient you thought you had in the midst of a recipe.
So yes, I have had many, many good times in the kitchen.
It’s all worth it for that first bite of an amazing dish.
Except when it’s a fail (totally happens more often than I would like). Then there might be some more cursing, screaming at the boyfriend, and ultimate acceptance as a revised recipe is developed for round 2.

In addition to cooking, the boyfriend and I are always on the hunt for the next best restaurant. Living in San Diego, we spend a lot of time eating our way through the city.
I love our life. For real.
We read about new restaurant openings, chefs entering the San Diego food scene, and new food trends. I enjoy writing posts about the great foodie experiences we have, in hopes that it will help others create great experiences of their own.
Why did i start blogging?
The idea to start a blog came from my grandma. On a recent visit, she told me stories of the travel adventures her and my grandpa had in their earlier years. She pulled out this wonderful scrapbook of a month long African safari, and as we flipped through the pages, I saw how happy it made her to relive those memories.
I realized that I want to be able to look back on my experiences with fond memories (well even just memories!). Not excited about creating a scrapbook, I decided to go a different route and start this blog.
Sharing my foodie experiences with others brings me joy.
AND, it forces me to write down my recipes. Which I suck at, even now…..
What do i do when i’m not blogging?
I have a job guys.
I work full time as an accounting and finance manager for a small company that I am quite fond of. And no, accounting is not boring.
I also enjoy longs walks on the beach, afternoon naps and LOVE road trips.
I despise long jogs, talking on the phone and showering.
