This Hibachi Steak is made traditional "hibachi" style and served with fried rice and a fresh made ginger sauce. You can use this recipe to make hibachi shrimp too!

Ok, maybe traditional isn't quite the word. I used a large griddle to make this recipe, but you can make it in a large skillet as well. Either works!
This is such a fun recipe because it reminds me of being younger and getting super excited about going to dinner at Benihana.
Cooking the beef quickly over high heat let's it caramelize on the outside and still stay nice and tender (like we do with this bo luc lac, air fryer steak tips or this Mongolian beef). And that ginger sauce is just so yummy. It's just like the Benihana sauce in my opinion.
This is a super fun recipe to make at home (it'll save you a few bucks too) with the fried rice and homemade Japanese ginger sauce. You can even add these air fryer potstickers to start your dinner!

A good quality (Choice or above) sirloin or tenderloin steak work best for this recipe.
I recommended using day old or at least cold white rice to make the fried rice to keep it from getting mushy. Leftover rice work great! You may also want to try this Chinese fried rice or this Kimchi fried rice for this recipe!
Fresh ginger is going to result in the best flavor for the ginger sauce.
For the frozen vegetables, you can use any small cut frozen vegetables. They have some specifically made for stir frying, so choose whatever you like!

Don't forget to follow this up with little light and fluffy Japanese souffle cheesecake!
Expert Tips
- Make sure the griddle or skillet is extremely hot before adding the beef to ensure it gets a nice seared crust on the outside. Otherwise, the meat will just steam and lose that great caramelized flavor.
- Using fresh ginger will impart the best flavor in the sauce. Peel the ginger then use a grater to grate it.
- Using day old or at least cold rice is very important to make sure your fried rice doesn't end up mushy.
- You can use white or brown rice for the fried rice.
- Any frozen small chopped vegetables will work for this recipe. Use the ones you like!
- When scrambling the eggs, don't let them sit too long or they will turn brown.
